Josefov, Prague's Jewish Quarter: the Golem, Memory and Kafka
Josefov was a city within the city, and it very nearly vanished.
Twelve stories, from the spot where the police blocked the students' way in 1989 to St Wenceslas's horse: a president who plays the saxophone, a revolution run from a theatre, the hockey night of 1969, the hotel where the escape of 669 children was organised, and a museum that keeps its scars on purpose.

On the night of 17 November 1989, thousands of students wanted to reach Wenceslas Square and couldn't. This walk finishes the journey for them. You start on Národní, where they were hemmed in, and climb past the places where the country has gone to speak its mind: the theatre where Havel ran the revolution, the night a hockey win ended in flying cobblestones, the hotel where Nicholas Winton organised the escape of Jewish children, the balcony of 1989 and a hotel with bugs in the basement. At the top, 1918, Palach and the marks of 1968 are waiting.

Prague is a city of cobbled squares, bridges and a hill your legs will notice. Group walks by riverbank and leave room to stop: looking is part of the journey.

Josefov was a city within the city, and it very nearly vanished.

Charles IV founded a town here for the noisy trades, and the New Town never fell silent.

Prague loves its legends, and here you'll hear them all with one question in mind: how long have people been telling them?

After paying, share your purchase’s invitation link. Each guest opens it in Podtour and accepts their place on their own iPhone or Android phone. They must redeem it within 30 days of purchase. Unclaimed places then expire and cannot be recovered or renewed. Access accepted in time is kept. Opening the link does not use a place; one account takes just one place, and no more people can join once all places are taken.
